Win LEGO Friends: Girlz 4 Life on Blu-ray

Win LEGO Friends: Girlz 4 Life on Blu-ray

Warner Bros. Home Video provided me with some of the materials I used in this Blog Post/Giveaway. The opinions I share are my own. I've not been compensated for this content. Post contains affiliate link.

My little girl, RD, loves LEGO Friends. When we went to LEGO Creativity Tour she almost lost her mind when she saw that they would have a whole section dedicated to them. Not only did she leave with several of the sample packs they were handing out, but also one of the sets. This is when she became a fan of LEGOS.

Now that she has started her own LEGO Friends world in our playroom, she can watch the friends in their latest movie while she plays!

The new movie, LEGO® FRIENDS: GIRLZ 4 LIFE, is all about friendship, trusting yourself and standing up for what’s right no matter what the cost. All set to an awesome rock soundtrack you’re going to love! Join Olivia, Stephanie, Emma, Mia and Andrea as they learn that fame isn’t important, it’s your friends that count!

LEGO Creativity Tour [photos] + 2016 KidsFest Tour Dates!

LEGO Creativity Tour [photos] + 2016 LEGO KidsFest Tour Dates!

Our family was provided with tickets to the LEGO Creativity Tour to facilitate this post. Opinions are my own.

For three days, LEGO Creativity Tour made its last stop in Columbus, Ohio and we were there!

This event was huge and had so many fun interactive, creative, and educational activities. There was something for every LEGO builder to do and build from the novice to the master and for every age.

No one could resist the LEGO & DUPLO® Construction Zones with piles of bricks to build anything that you could imagine. Everyone, even parents, got on the floor and were knee deep in LEGOS. Attendees could also participate in build challenges and there were group build sites throughout the event space.

Hey Ohio! @LegoCreativity KidsFest is in Columbus this November

Like most families, we are a LEGO family and they are everywhere in our house and truth be told, I wouldn't have it any other way! When I saw that LEGO Creativity Tour was stopping in Ohio, I knew we would be taking a trip to Columbus! The kids and the Hubs went way back in 2011 when it stopped in CLE so this time, I'm going an leaving the Hubs at home.

So many LEGOS! @LegoCreativity KidsFest is in Columbus this November

Our #LEGO Adventure at @GLScienceCtr was Awesome

You've probably been wondering why I have been so quiet lately and it is not because I've given up and packed it all in - on the contrary!  The family and I have been spending some much needed quality time together and had a staycation.  So much better than a fakeaction any day of the week.

@GLScienceCtr #LEGO Adventure

The Great Lakes Science Center graciously gave us tickets to explore their new exhibit LEGO® Travel Adventure to facilitate this post and as part of our staycation, it was pretty awesome.  And, yes, everything is awe-some.

The exhibit itself is produced by The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis in cooperation with LEGO® Systems, Inc. and is visiting the Great Lakes Science Center until September 7.

#ArthurGugick #LEGO #Einstein

While we were there we were able to meet Arthur Gugick, a local math teacher and lifelong LEGO enthusiast, who was in the process of creating a portrait of Einstein.  Many of his works of art hung from the walls and are on display. He was mesmerizing to watch, not only because of his concentration but because he was capturing the essence of a man using LEGO!

LEGOS and Nature: Making Connections at the Cleveland Botanical Garden

LEGOS and Nature: Making Connections at the Cleveland Botanical Garden

With Parade the Circle coming up this weekend, I could not resist taking the opportunity to share some photos from our recent trip to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens.

The Botanical Garden is hosting Nature Connects A LEGO® Brick Experience - special to the Garden this summer only!  Through this amazingly creative exhibit of LEGOS, the Garden hopes we can "learn about and discover the amazing interconnections in nature through daily interactive indoor and out experiences."   The cost is free to members (which we are) or $11 for adults and $6 for kids.

As we were driving to meet up with friends a song about a scavenger hunt came on the kid's radio station and I got way too excited about wanting to do one when we got to the gardens.  My kids groaned, loudly.  I still think it would be a fun idea.  I wish they still made disposable cameras.  Or, do they...?

Everything is Awesome

Sitting in the dark theater, I feel a little hand search for me. I look over to see her snaggletooth grin. She was just making sure I was still there.

I don’t take the kids to the movies. That’s what daddy does but I really wanted to see the Lego Movie. The kids saw it while I sat with my mom, one last time, and today I really wanted to forget the world and go to the movies.

As we drove, my son realized we were going to the same place that shows movies on the lawn in the summer. Despite the freezing temperatures, he was convinced that if I was taking them to the movies then it must be outside and not in an actual theater. I saw he was serious when he asked where we would get popcorn since I did not make it ahead of time.

I told him we were stopping to buy popcorn and waited till he figured out that we would also be seeing the movie in the warmth of a movie theater.

I am that mom that uses her purse to pack snacks and juice boxes but today, we splurged. Well, the kids splurged. They even got slurpees - coke and blue raspberry and cherry mixed with blue raspberry. When did they install a slushie machine?

Word(less) Wednesday - First Reconciliation Gift

My baby boy makes his Reconciliation next Tuesday in preparation for his First Holy Communion and for the special day I found a LEGO rosary!  This is so neat I find myself saying it.  I found this on Etsy, of course.

We received tickets to facilitate this review. Opinions are my own.

This past weekend the Hubs took the kids to the Lego KidsFest and all I got were these pictures, and more Legos!

Just kidding, sort of, because I had to work the Hubs did take the kids and they did return with more Legos to add to their growing collections but I'll never complain about more photos! My only complaint is that I could not go with them - they had so much fun.

Jumping into a pile of Legos to a life-size version of Spongebob, Batman and Lightning McQueen, there was something for everyone and nothing they didn't like. I'll let the photos tell the rest.
