Cracking Skulls - Kindergarten Style

When I was in kindergarten my mom sent my brother and I to a sitter who happen to have a daughter in my class.

We did not get along.

I remember a strong dislike of this girl and her mother.

Okay, maybe it was stronger then dislike...

I hated going to their house.  I hated being around them.  I just  hated them.

I do not remember why I disliked them so much or what caused these feelings and I have very few memories of being at their home.  What I do remember is the feeling I had when I was there and it was not happy.  I just  hated my babysitter and her daughter.

They also tried to feed me liver and onions and for that I will never forgive them.

This is not about liver and onions.  This is about the day I had enough.  I had enough of what ever it was that she was doing that made me so angry.  I had enough of what ever made me hate her so and I had enough of her.

I shoved her.

Hard.

I shoved her so hard that she hit her head on the brick fireplace and had to go to hospital for stitches.

I do not remember if I got in trouble or ever going back there again for that matter but I do remember hiding and crying.

I was hiding and crying because I was more afraid that her dad  would not like me any more.

To this day I have no idea why.

This post was inspired by a prompt from Mama Kat's - pretty much world famous - Writer's Workshop.  To read other submissions go here and to read other things I have written from this workshop go here.

Am I raising a chauvinist?

I came home from work a few weeks ago and the Husband was so proud.  Goofy's kindergarten teacher pulled the Husband aside to tell him that Corey had tied his own shoes!  We were so proud!  We gushed, we praised, we wondered why he had done it for us (or since).  Hmmm...
I found out last night... Jill does it.

We were chatting about school, how he has not really been listening in class and how he knew his teacher would probably be calling home (btw... he used way more words to tell me what I just wrote with a lot of "would you just tell me all ready" from me lol)   He talked about how after Jill tied his shoes...
me: Wait? What?
Goofy: Jill tied my shoes
me: Jill ties your shoes?
Goofy: yes
me: Jill ties YOUR shoes?
Goofy: (looks at floor (or shoes) sheepishly)
me: *sigh*
You see, the teacher never actually saw the shoes being tied.  Only that they were tied.  When it is time to get ready to go home, she goes around and makes sure everybody has their boots on and zippers zipped.  All she saw was that the shoes were tied... she figured he did it.  Why would she think Jill did it?

Goofy will be learning how to tie his shoes this week.

Weekends

Weekends at my house are pretty uneventful, lazy days.  Since the baby, nothing ever gets done and I feel like our house is one big storage shed.

Okay... maybe a little dramatic but all the same I just can't find anywhere to put things!  We have officially run out of room.  I am so overwhelmed by what needs to be done so much that I can't do anything.

This happens a lot in my life.

So with that...  I am having a Christmas party for Goofy and a few of his friends.  sigh.

He has been planing this since Halloween.

And, yes, I said - HE.  He has decided it would be at the park...  Middle of December, dude!  Not going to happen.

He is inviting all of his kindergarten class plus a chosen few from his preschool class.  We have a small house... again not going to happen.  Daddy works every possible weekend but one and he said he would take the bebe out of the house... okay, maybe.

Goofy needs some positive attention.  I am making the invites now...
