The Ultimate House Cleaning Playlist

The Ultimate Cleaning Playlist from @MryJhnsn

Happy Housewife Day!

No, I am not a housewife.

In fact, when I mentioned to the husband that today is Housewife Day he responded with, "That's something you don't have to worry about."

I wish I could be a stay at home mom - but it's just not in the cards,

So while I am not a housewife and cleaning is something I only seem to do when company is coming, I do have a pretty great playlist for house cleaning which I made into a YouTube playlist to share with anyone who wants to join me in rockin' while cleaning.

No Secrets, Mary Lambert's #HeartOnMySleeve Rocks #O2O #sponsored

No Secrets, Mary Lambert's #HeartOnMySleeve Rocks #O2O #sponsored

I received a copy of this album to facilitate this review. Opinions are my own.

An album comes along every once in a while that really can bring a light in the dark and Heart On My Sleeve really brings the light.

Although I had heard the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ marriage equality song Same Love, I did not realize that the woman singing was Mary Lambert until I previewed her new album (due out October 14, 2014) and now I am in love.

Train has been one of those bands from my youth that I fell in love with from the first note of  I Am to the last note on their first album.

Drops of Jupiter was my favorite song of their second album (like everybody on the planet) but I didn't love all of the songs, most, but not all.  In fact, it was not till Save Me, San Francisco that I would buy their album and not just individual songs.  I Got You was my favorite off that album and it is on my regular rotation of songs.

S-o-o-o...  When I was given a chance to hear their new album Bulletproof Picasso and receive a promotional advanced copy, I was pretty nervous.  I really dig Angel in Blue Jeans, but will the rest of the album be as good?

Triple Scoop with Chamberfest and #MOCACleveland

sponsored event by Museum of Contemporary Art
Disclosure: We received tickets to facilitate this post but did not receive any other compensation.

The on going quest to bring culture to my offspring continues and I had the opportunity to take them to the Museum of Contemporary Art this past Saturday, as their guests, to the Chamberfest Triple Scoop Family Concert.

This is the first family oriented concert in the three years that Chamberfest has been in Cleveland.  Actually, Chamberfest is the only chamber music festival of its kind in the region and was created by Cleveland Orchestra principal clarinet Franklin Cohen and daughter Diana Cohen, concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Chamberfest 2014 in Cleveland, Ohio

Since this is the third year, three is the theme of all the concerts and of course what a better way to tie in a family concert than with Mitchell's Homemade Ice Cream!  Grammy award winning musician, Alex Klein hosted the hour long concert focusing on:
  • Johann Sebastian Bach “Goldberg Variations” arranged for String Trio, BWV 988
  • Zoltán Kodály Serenade, Op.12
  • Luciano Berio Sequenza VII for oboe
  • Kenji Bunch The Three G’s for viola

Win David Gray's New Album, Mutineers, Before it is Released #sponsored

I have received a free download of the album to review from One2One Network to facilitate the review and this giveaway. I have not been compensated in any other way from One2One Network. Opinions are my own. This contains affiliate links.

You will never guess what song came on the radio last night?!!?

"Back in the World" from David Gray's soon to be released new album Mutineers!  Yes, I know - I am secretly a teenager when it comes to songs I like but I was driving home, windows rolled down, and enjoying the late afternoon sun when it came on.  I was so into it I passed my street.
